Playing hooky
Well, not really....is it only hooky if you're not supposed to be gone from work? Trask & I took a vacation day on Tuesday and spent the day exploring the Oregon coast with Anne & Mike, who were visiting from San Francisco. We started in Tillamook where we visited the cheese factory and had ice cream before lunch. Then we took the beautiful drive up Hwy 101, stopping in Cannon Beach at Mo's for a clam chowder lunch. When we arrived in Astoria we hiked about a mile uphill to the famous Astoria Column. We had a great time, but only realized I was carrying my camera once we were in Astoria so there are no pictures to document the delicious bubble-gum flavored ice cream from earlier in the day. A sad fact, but true. We did our best to try to convince the Californians that they need to move up to Portland so we can see them much more often. All in all it was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Miss you guys!
